The review of your exiting planting may be for specific beds which need some attention or may be for the whole garden as required. I will aim to identify the specific plants in your exiting planting scheme, and based on the analysis of your garden in the Project Kick Off stage, I will evaluate the suitability of the plants for your garden situation.
This will include reviewing the mature size of the plants for the available space in the flower bed or border, their place in the planting scheme (eg too tall for a front of a border position), their suitability for your soil attributes, amount of light and other site specific factors.
I will also review the colours of the flowers, foliage and shapes of your existing plants in terms of your likes and dislikes, which we will have identified in the ‘Client Brief’ document.
Based on the above, I will be able to make suggestions for ways to improve your existing planting scheme. This may suggest replacing some plants with more suitable inclusions for your garden situation which will also meet your plant preferences. This could include suggesting alternative plants to create different heights, flowering periods and shapes to create more interest.
I will create a scale drawing (based on the measurements taken during the Project Kick Off meeting or a scale drawing of your garden area) and show the recommended changes to the existing planting which will be cross-referenced to a document with pictures of the suggested alternative plants. This document will include details of the mature size of the plants and their flowering times and other features of interest during the year (eg foliage type).
If required, I can source the specific plants recommended in the new planting scheme for you to plant up, or which I can plant up as required.
